Originally owned by J Murray and then W and E Waterhouse, she was chartered  to Manly Co-Operative Steam Ferry Company Ltd and used on the Manly run from 1883 until she was sold to New Zealand interests in 1896.

At some stage, she had been renamed to Swan.

Admiral was broken up in 1926.
