Kamilaroi was the first of the big car punts that came into service in answer to the increased vehicular trade across the harbour.  She joined the fleet of smaller and older vessels that were struggling to handle this traffic.

Kamilaroi was broken up in 1932 after the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
